Daniela Shtereva holds a B.A. degree in Violin Performance from the National Conservatory of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria, and a M.M. degree in Violin Performance from Louisiana State University where she studied with Professor Kevork Mardirossian. She has made a number of appearances as a soloist with orchestras throughout Europe and in the United States, and has five compact discs released on Music Minus One. In 2001-2003, Miss Shtereva was Assistant and Associate Concertmaster in the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra. She is a prizewinner of several competitions, including the Fifth "Andrea Postaccini" International Competition for violinists in Italy, and the Music Teachers National Association Competition. In 2004, Miss Shtereva won First Prize at the Concerto Competition at Carnegie Mellon University. She is winner of the Pittsburgh Concert Society 2004 Major Auditions, and was awarded the Sibelius Family prize as a semi-finalist in the Ninth International Violin Competition Jean Sibelius in Helsinki, Finland in November 2005. Last month she was a semi-finalist at the International Violin Competition in Indianapolis.
Currently, Miss Shtereva is working on her Artist Diploma certificate at Carnegie Mellon University with Professor Cyrus Forough, and has been a member of the Starling Quartet.
