In celebration of Maestro Walter Morales’s 20th anniversary as Music Director, our opening concert of the season offers a dynamic mix of styles, showcasing the expansive range of orchestral music and the talents of the ESO.
We welcome guest conductor Maria Sensi Sellner to open the season with Gabriela Ortiz’s Kauyumari, a vibrant blend of contemporary rhythms and traditional melodies, showcasing the richness of Mexican music. Walter Morales at the piano then joins the ESO for performances of Ravel’s dazzling Concerto for the Left Hand and two world premieres. Then, experience the luxuriant melodies and orchestration of Scheherazade, based upon the incredible adventures of Sinbad, as told in The Thousand and One Nights.
